LED Rope LightsOur selection of LED rope lights are the perfect, economical lighting solution for your home or business.

LED stands for light emitting diode. An LED is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when electrical current passes through it. LED rope lights make great decorations during the holidays but they look just a good any time of year. They are ideal for lighting building outlines, holiday light sculptures, trade show lighting and night clubs. These popular lights work well on commercial buildings because they are bright enough to compete with all of the other lighting that is so common in commercial areas LED lights produce an amazing 8.5 lumens per foot, compared to traditional incandescent lights which only produce 3 lumens per foot. These lights also have a very long life, making them ideal for the heavy usage required by commercial entities. They typically last an average of 50,000 hours but can last for up to 100,000. Traditional rope lights only last an average 5,000 hours.

There are several equipment pieces that make installing LED rope lights easier. Mounting clips are pretty easy to install and are very similar to the clips used for other holiday lights. U-channel clips, on the other hand, create straight outlines on building surfaces such as wood, metal or brick. They are generally 3 feet long and sell for approximately $1.39 each.

There are several advantages to using LED lights over traditional incandescent lights. LED lights consume less power. Because their consumption of power is so low (30mW to 200mW), people can actually save money and energy by using them.

LED rope lights are also safer than their incandescent counterparts. They use less heat and so they pose less of a fire hazard or burn danger for small children. They don’t use filaments to heat them up, but instead are heated up as a result of energy exchange between the materials used.

These powerful lights are appropriate for indoor or outdoor use. They are available in several different colors such as red, green and white among many others. The price of the lights will vary depending on the color. This is because different materials are used to create the different colors and some of those materials are more expensive than others. White LEDs, for example, are the most expensive because red, green and blue LEDs are combined together to make a white LED.

LED rope lights are sold on large spools and range from 100 feet to 300 feet in length. They vary in price from $2.95 to $7.95 per foot.
