holiday season has arrived, and the tree is nicely decorated in
the living room, collecting a generous pile of presents beneath
its branches! In order to make your Christmas tree last longer,
stay fresh and scented, and keep most of its needles from falling
to your floor, it is important to use the right Christmas tree care.
This is a simple concept, and quite easy, but one which is extremely
beneficial to the length of freshness and ease of cleanup!
Here is a basic Christmas tree care guideline. These tips will
help you prolong the life of your tree, maintain the piney scent,
and have fewer needles to clean up off of the floor!
Make a new cut at the base of the trunk before setting up the
tree. The fresh incision will leave the grain open to soak up as
much water as needed.
Use a Christmas tree stand that holds at least a gallon of water.
Fill the stand with water after securing the base of the tree in
Keep at least the bottom of the tree trunk covered in water at all
times. A layer of resin will form, otherwise, and will block any
further water soaking.
No need to use any commercial mixes to prolong the life of your
Christmas tree. Plain water from the tap is completely sufficient
to keep the tree alive.
Check all light strands before stringing the tree. Look for wires
with insulation that is worn, bulbs that are dark, etc. Always turn
the lights off before going to bed.
It’s time to deck the halls, both interior and exterior!
